A hearty and delicious casserole combining flavorful sausage, crispy tater tots, and a cheesy egg mixture baked to perfection. This dish makes a comforting and protein-packed meal.
Ingredients
2 lb hot breakfast beef sausage
1 (30-32 oz) bag frozen tater tots
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp onion powder
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup mozzarella cheese
8 eggs
2 cups milk
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 350ºF. Lightly spray a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
2. In a large skillet, cook the sausage over medium heat until no longer pink. Drain any excess fat.
3. In a large bowl, combine the tater tots, cooked sausage, cheddar cheese, and mozzarella cheese. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish.
4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and milk. Pour this mixture evenly over the tater tot mixture.
5. At this point, you can cover and refrigerate the dish if you plan to bake it later.
6. Bake uncovered for 60 to 70 minutes, or until the eggs are fully set.
Notes
Cover and refrigerate overnight if baking later.
Use mild sausage if preferred.
Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Reheat gently to preserve texture.
