Description
Crispy and creamy air fryer crab rangoon made with imitation crab, cream cheese, and green onions, served with sweet chili sauce.
Ingredients
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
3.75 ounces imitation crabmeat, shredded (about 3 sticks)
2 green onions, thinly sliced
Pinch of white pepper
24 square wonton wrappers
1 large egg, beaten
Sweet chili sauce for serving
Instructions
In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, shredded imitation crab, green onions, and white pepper. Stir until the mixture is smooth and fully blended.
Place 2 teaspoons of the filling in the center of each wonton wrapper. Lightly brush the edges of each wrapper with the beaten egg. Fold the corners of the wrapper toward the center, pressing the sides to seal them together.
Spray the basket of your air fryer with cooking spray. Arrange the filled wontons in a single layer inside the basket without overcrowding. Generously spray the tops of the wontons with cooking spray.
Set the air fryer to 350˚F and cook for 6 minutes. Carefully remove the cooked wontons from the basket and repeat the process with the remaining ones. Serve warm with sweet chili sauce.
Notes
Use imitation crabmeat to keep this recipe affordable and halal-friendly. Make sure to spray the air fryer basket and wontons well to achieve a crispy texture.
