Description
Crispy air fryer okra coated with Cajun seasoning served with a tangy mustard dipping sauce and fresh lemon wedges.
Ingredients
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning (preferably salt-free)
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt, plus additional salt to taste
1 pound okra, halved lengthwise
2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
1/2 cup sour cream
2 teaspoons Creole mustard or country-style mustard
1/2 teaspoon hot sauce
Lemon wedges, for serving
Instructions
In a large bowl, mix together the cornstarch, Cajun seasoning, and 1/4 teaspoon of kosher salt. Add the okra and toss well to coat evenly. Drizzle the olive oil over the okra and toss again to ensure all pieces are coated.
Place the okra in a single layer in the air-fryer basket, working in batches to avoid overcrowding. Cook at 400 degrees Fahrenheit, tossing the okra halfway through, until it is golden and crispy, about 18 minutes. Transfer the cooked okra to a plate and season with additional salt to taste.
While the okra cooks, combine the sour cream, mustard, and hot sauce in a small bowl. Taste and add salt if desired.
Squeeze a lemon wedge over the cooked okra before serving. Serve with extra lemon wedges and the prepared mustard sauce on the side.
Notes
Make sure not to overcrowd the air fryer basket to ensure crispiness.
Adjust hot sauce level to your preferred spice tolerance.
Serve immediately for best texture.
