Description

Heart-shaped whole grain toasts topped with creamy mashed avocado, fresh tomato, feta, and basil for a delightful breakfast treat.

Ingredients

Scale

4 slices of whole grain bread
2 ripe avocados
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Salt and pepper to taste
1 small tomato, diced
2 tablespoons crumbled feta cheese
1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil
1 tablespoon olive oil
Red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut hearts out of each slice of whole grain bread.
Toast the heart-shaped bread slices until they are golden brown and as crisp as you prefer.
In a bowl, mash the avocados. Add the lemon juice, salt, and pepper, then mix until smooth.
Spread the avocado mixture evenly over each toasted heart.
Top with diced tomatoes, crumbled feta cheese, and chopped fresh basil.
If desired, drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with red pepper flakes. Serve immediately.

Notes

Choose ripe avocados for creamy texture. Red pepper flakes add a subtle kick but can be omitted for milder taste.
