Description
A cozy baked brie wrapped in flaky puff pastry with sweet cranberry sauce, perfect for serving with sliced baguette or crackers.
Ingredients
1 sheet puff pastry, thawed but still cold
1 wheel of brie (8 to 14 ounces)
¼ to ½ cup cranberry sauce or your favorite jam or preserves
1 egg
Sliced baguette or crackers to serve
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 400°F.
On a floured countertop or large cutting board, lay out the sheet of puff pastry.
Using a knife or pizza cutter, trim the pastry into a square about twice the size of your wheel of brie.
Place the brie in the center and spread the cranberry sauce over the top of the cheese.
Carefully wrap the pastry around the cheese, bringing the edges up and pressing the corners together at the top to seal completely.
Transfer the wrapped brie to a parchment-lined baking sheet.
In a small bowl, whisk together the egg with a splash of water to create an egg wash.
Using a pastry brush, lightly coat the outside of the pastry, covering the corners well.
Bake for 40 to 50 minutes, until the pastry is golden brown and cooked through.
Allow to cool for 8 to 10 minutes before serving.
Enjoy with sliced baguette or crackers.
Notes
You can substitute cranberry sauce with your favorite jam or preserves.
Allow the baked brie to cool slightly to avoid burning when serving.
Serve with fresh baguette slices or crackers for a delightful appetizer.
