A hearty and delicious make-ahead breakfast casserole perfect for Christmas mornings featuring sausage, peppers, and cheddar cheese.
Ingredients
6 slices of white bread, cubed
1 pound sausage, cooked and crumbled
1 red pepper, seeded and diced
1/2 cup sweet onion, diced
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
7 large eggs
2 cups milk
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon dijon mustard
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with cooking spray.
Evenly spread the cubed bread across the bottom of the baking dish.
Layer the cooked sausage over the bread, followed by the diced red pepper, onions, and shredded cheddar cheese.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, Worcestershire sauce, dijon mustard, salt, and pepper until well combined.
Pour the egg mixture evenly over the casserole layers.
Bake for 50 to 55 minutes, or until the casserole is set and cooked through.
