Ingredients
2 large egg yolks
1/4 tsp fine salt
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
8 tbsp unsalted butter (room temperature)
12 red heart sprinkles (for the Grinch’s heart)
3-5 drops green food gel coloring
2/3 cup granulated sugar
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Line a small baking sheet with parchment paper or silicone baking mat.
Melt unsalted butter in a bowl.
Add granulated sugar, egg yolks, vanilla extract, and 3 drops green food gel coloring.
Stir until fully combined and color is even.
Add more green coloring for deeper shade if desired.
Sprinkle flour, baking soda, and salt over mixture.
Gently stir until just combined, avoid overmixing.
Press dough flat in bowl and divide in half.
Shape 6 dough balls from each half (12 total).
Optionally roll dough balls in extra sugar for crunch.
Place dough balls evenly on baking sheet.
Bake 10-11 minutes until cookies spread and crackle.
Remove from oven and press one red heart sprinkle onto each warm cookie.
Let rest on baking sheet 2 minutes, then cool on wire rack.

Do not overmix to keep cookies soft.
Watch baking time closely to avoid dryness.
