Description
Delicious pecan pie bars featuring a buttery shortbread crust and rich pecan filling, perfect for dessert.
Ingredients
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
½ cup granulated sugar
½ teaspoon salt
¾ cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
3 large eggs
½ cup pure maple syrup
½ cup light corn syrup
½ cup brown sugar, packed
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
¼ teaspoon salt
1 cup chopped pecans
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan with cooking spray.
In a large bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, and salt.
Add the cold, cubed butter and blend into the dry ingredients until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Press the mixture firmly and evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan.
Bake the crust for 30 to 35 minutes until lightly golden brown.
In a separate bowl, whisk eggs, maple syrup, corn syrup, brown sugar, melted butter, vanilla extract, and salt.
Mix in chopped pecans until coated evenly.
Pour filling over hot baked crust.
Bake for an additional 25 to 30 minutes until filling is set and edges are golden.
Let bars cool completely before slicing.
Optionally dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
Use cold butter for the crust to achieve a crumbly texture.
Make sure to bake the filling until it is set to avoid a runny center.
Powdered sugar adds a nice decorative touch but is optional.
