Description
A simple and delicious peppermint bark made with layers of semisweet and white chocolate infused with peppermint, topped with crushed candy canes.
Ingredients
12 ounces good-quality semisweet chocolate, chopped into 1/2-inch pieces
1 pound good-quality white chocolate, chopped into 1/2-inch pieces
1 1/2 teaspoons peppermint extract
3 candy canes or 12 round hard peppermint candies, crushed
Instructions
Place the semisweet chocolate in a medium bowl and microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until completely melted and smooth.
Spread the melted semisweet chocolate onto a piece of parchment paper, forming an approximately 9″x13″ rectangle. Refrigerate for 15 minutes to allow it to set.
In a separate medium bowl, microwave the white chocolate in 30-second intervals until melted. Stir in the peppermint extract until well combined.
Pour the white chocolate over the set semisweet chocolate layer and spread evenly. Sprinkle the crushed candy canes or peppermint candies on top.
Chill in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes until firm. Break into pieces and serve.
Notes
Use good-quality chocolate for the best flavor.
Ensure chocolate is melted gently to avoid burning.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
