A creamy peppermint milkshake with shaved semi-sweet chocolate and crushed candy canes for a refreshing holiday treat.
Ingredients
¼ cup semi-sweet chocolate, shaved (from a semi-sweet chocolate baking bar)
8 candy canes
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon peppermint extract
4 cups vanilla ice cream
Instructions
Shave the chocolate bar using a microplane or cheese grater.
Crush the candy canes into pebble-sized pieces by pulsing them in a blender.
Add the milk to the blender first. Pro Tip: always add liquids at the bottom to help the blade turn and blend the ingredients smoothly.
Top with the shaved chocolate.
Pour in the peppermint extract.
Add the vanilla ice cream.
Pulse the mixture until you reach your desired consistency.
Pour into 4 glasses and finish by topping with whipped cream.
