Description
Delicious chocolate brownies topped with vanilla frosting and fresh strawberries to resemble festive Santa hats.
Ingredients
¾ cup all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon baking soda
2 large eggs
¾ cup light brown sugar
¾ cup vegetable oil
2 tablespoons water
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 ½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided
½ cup vanilla frosting
9 fresh strawberries
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper and set aside.
In a small bowl, combine the flour, salt, and baking soda. Set aside.
In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, brown sugar, and vegetable oil for 2 minutes.
Add the water and vanilla extract, whisking until fully incorporated.
Gradually whisk in the dry ingredients until just combined.
Melt 1 cup of the chocolate chips in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth—about 60 seconds.
Stir the melted chocolate into the brownie batter until fully combined.
Fold in the remaining ½ cup of chocolate chips.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan.
Bake for 50 to 55 minutes, then remove from the oven and transfer to a cooling rack.
Once cooled, cut into 9 brownies.
Pipe a circle of vanilla frosting on top of each brownie.
Remove the stems from the strawberries and place one on each frosting circle.
Finally, pipe a small dollop of frosting on the pointed end of each strawberry to create a “hat.”
