Description

A simple slow cooker recipe featuring tender sirloin steak and fresh broccoli in a flavorful sauce, perfect served over rice.

Ingredients

Scale

2 Pounds sirloin steak, sliced thinly against the grain
2 Tablespoons sesame oil
¼ Teaspoon onion powder
1 Cup beef broth or beef consommé
¼ Teaspoon black pepper
½ Cup low sodium soy sauce
3 to 4 Cups fresh broccoli florets
⅓ Cup brown sugar
4 Cloves garlic, minced
3 Tablespoons cornstarch

Instructions

Place the sirloin strips into your slow cooker.
In a bowl, whisk together the beef broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, cornstarch, garlic, sesame oil, and onion powder until well combined.
Pour this sauce mixture over the steak in the slow cooker.
Cover and cook on high for 3 to 4 hours or on low for 6 to 8 hours, until the beef is tender.
About 30 minutes before the end of cooking time, stir in the broccoli florets and continue cooking on high for another 30 minutes or until the broccoli is tender.
Serve the dish hot over white rice or your preferred side, and garnish with sesame seeds and green onions if desired.
