Description

A comforting bowl of creamy vanilla porridge topped with sweet and sticky brown sugar apples, perfect for a warm breakfast.

Ingredients

Scale

2 cups (180g) rolled oats
3 cups (750ml) milk
300ml pure (thin) cream
1 vanilla bean, split, seeds scraped
2 red apples, cored and cut into 1cm-thick wedges
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons honey

Instructions

In a saucepan over medium-low heat, combine the oats, milk, cream, and the split vanilla bean with its seeds. Cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring frequently, until the oats are tender and the mixture becomes thick and creamy. If it starts to get too thick, you may add a little more milk.
To prepare the brown sugar apples, place the apple wedges, brown sugar, and honey in a saucepan over medium heat. Cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the apples are tender, golden, and sticky.
Divide the porridge evenly among four bowls (one reserved for Goldilocks!). Top each serving with the brown sugar apples, drizzle with the honey syrup, and serve immediately.

Notes

Add more milk during cooking if porridge becomes too thick. Serve immediately for the best texture and flavor.
